Wow - Isn't that the Truth

Have you ever been travelling, even if just in your car and need to make a quick pit stop to use a restroom. I know that I have usually just popped into a gas station or fast food restaurant to use their facilities, but this one person who I just thought made a lot of sense and certainly something I've noticed in my travels is that the restrooms in gas stations and fast food restaurants aren't nearly as clean as the ones you'd find in a hotel. There again, I'm not sure I'd feel real comfortable just walking into the hotel to use their facilities, but if the hotel was big enough, the front desk folks would probably not even notice you popping in to plop. This suggestion was actually recommended by a man. LOL And to think they really cared about the cleanliness of the toilet seat.

I'm just filled with all sorts of neat ideas today. Well, they're really someone else's ideas, but I thought they were worthy of being posted on my blog.

The bathrooms in hotels are there for more than just hotel guests. Dang!! They are for visitors who are there too!! *cheesy grin*

Take the Overnight Train to Save Money

A good tip I found while perusing a travel talk forum was one which recommended saving on their hotel expenses in Europe by taking the "overnight trains". Buy a Eurail Pass and sleep in the 'all night' trains. The next part they said though, I felt was rather risky behavior. When the traveller arrived at the destination, he would walk into the nearest hotel to the train station, bag in hand, walking or taking the elevator to any of the upper floors. There would be maids in the halls with many rooms open and the beds stripped, but the bathroom had not yet been attended to. This guy would go into the room, saying to the maid that he would have to take a shower again, although he had 'already checked out', but got a bit sweaty loading the car. The maid would then reply with "No problem, Sir". The fellow got showered and went dowstairs to enjoy the free breakfast as well.

Dang, it all sounds so innocent doesn't it. I wonder what kind of trouble you'd get in for trying to do something like that and get caught. I know I would personally just have that look of guilt on my face. It never amazes me what people will do to save a buck :-)

Free Breakfast Poachers

Do you ever travel with others in your party and one of you were lucky enough to be confirmed in the hotel which offers "free breakfast" and the other traveller wasn't as fortunate? I've never really thought much about this before, but as you'll see on this forum which I read from time to time, this practice happens rather frequently and they're pretty darn slick about it too.

What experiences have you had or seen while staying away from home and enjoying your free breakfast in the morning? Homeless? Other hotel guests who just act like they belong there? How about at Embassy Suites when they have the "manager's reception"? Free drinks anyone?

Then you have some business traveller's who will meet with their client and "treat" them to a free breakfast. LOL Now that's really, really tacky lol
